Unified Bank to Sponsor New Jr. Rec. Center in St. Clairsville

Tuesday, November 2, 2023
St. Clairsville Mayor Kathryn Thalman announced plans today for the City of St. Clairsville, the St. Clairsville Recreation Department, and Unified Bank to begin work on a new recreation center, the “Unified Bank Jr. Rec. Center.” Mayor Thalman said, “This new center will provide much-needed space for the children and families of St. Clairsville and our surrounding areas.” “We are happy to partner with Unified Bank to make this dream come true,” Mayor Thalman added.
The new Unified Bank Jr. Rec. Center will be located adjacent to the current J. B. Martin Rec Center on Fair Avenue in St. Clairsville, Ohio. The new center will add over 7,200 square feet of indoor sports arena to the City’s already significant all-season recreational space. The Unified Bank Jr. Rec. Center will be available to students from neighboring St. C High School, the public, and private groups.
Unified’s President, Chairman, and CEO Scott Everson said, “Unified Bank is deeply committed to creating better lives and futures for the people and communities that we proudly serve. We strive to be a solid community partner that enriches the lives of those in our communities and our communities at-large.”  Everson added, “We firmly believe that the Unified Bank Jr. Rec. Center in St. Clairsville will positively impact our community and benefit thousands of people in the coming years.”
According to St. C Recreation Director Eric Gay, “The St. Clairsville Recreation Department boasts one of the finest recreation centers in the Ohio Valley. Our facility has been known to host everything from special holiday and community events to a multitude of indoor sports activities. But our facility is always full to capacity.” Gay added, “Unified Bank is making it possible to grow our City's vision for the future.”
Work on the Unified Bank Jr. Rec. Center is already underway. The building has been evaluated and measured for new metal siding inside and outside. The floor area will be covered with artificial turf. Specialized lighting will be added, as will new state-of-the-art HVAC units for year-round comfort. Signage and branding will soon be erected as well. A completion date has been set for early spring 2024.
Unified Bank is a full-service Member FDIC-insured, state-chartered commercial bank headquartered in Martins Ferry, OH and has eighteen locations that serve the Ohio counties of Athens, Belmont, Carroll, Fairfield, Harrison, Hocking, Jefferson and Tuscarawas and Marshall County in West Virginia.
